The Dragon & The Thistle

Welcome to a new adventure in clàrsach music, the world of The Dragon & The Thistle. This is a collection of compositions and arrangements which I've worked on over the the past few years and which I include in my own performances. They are mostly items that have crept into my repertoire naturally, melodies which happened to be in my head when I sat down with the clàrsach. The exceptions are the tunes written for the three little people in my life: my sons Lewis and Aneirin, and my god-daugher Amalia — these were very deliberate compositions.

Gwen spends many a weekend playing at weddings, functions and events. This work has taken her to many beautiful venues including Edinburgh Castle, the Balmoral Hotel and Gleneagles as well as Bonhams Auction House, One Devonshire Gardens, Cameron House and events such as the after-show party for Miss Saigon in Glasgow's Kings Theatre, attended by Sir Cameron Mackintosh. She can provide music on the pedal harp or clàrsach and is happy to accommodate requests and arrange music for your special occasion.
