Gwen performs as part of two different duos:-
The Elysium Flute and Harp Duo was formed in 2004 at the RSAMD. Flautist Lindsey Ellis and Gwen first worked together for a performance of the Debussy Trio alongside violist Joanne Miller. They have since performed at music festivals in Lymm, Cheshire and Cupar, Fife in addition to other recitals and a performance of the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto at Holy Trinity Church, St. Andrews. Weddings are also a speciality and Elysium have an extensive repertoire for such occasions. Their playing is often commented on as being incredibly musical and together. Having known each other for so long, each can predict exactly what the other will do which enables them to give beautiful shape and colour to every performance.
The Style 85 Harp Duo (named after the model of Lyon and Healy Harp) is a more recent collaboration. Annakate Pearson and Gwen have been friends for many years but it is only in the last couple of years that they have begun to perform together. They have already presented many recitals in Scotland and northern England to the immense enjoyment of their audiences. Two pedal harps playing together create an impressive sound and the spectacle of these beautiful instruments together in concert is something to behold.
